THE TEAM
The Data Team is an integral part of GFG and is essential to enable a data-driven decision making culture. The Data team sits at the cross-roads of various departments including: Strategic Brand Partnerships, Commercial, Finance, Product Management, Technology and Platform Services. It is an exciting place to be and allows us to provide unique insights about the business, its environment and the marketplace.
SCOPE OF THE ROLE
Based in Vietnam, the Data Analyst II will form part of GFG’s Global Data Team and will provide dedicated support to the Global Commercial Team with data retrieval, accuracy and development of GFG global commercial data. Data plays a key role in enabling the Commercial team to foster successful commercial relationships with top global brands by developing our data, reporting and insights. This data will be used to support global brand meetings, trading and external reporting.
HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED
Your work will have a direct impact on shaping the future of how data is received, analysed and presented to ensure data lead decisions are enabled across the Strategic Brand Partnerships team (need more).
Data Mapping & Development: Source, collate, manipulate, and interrogate datasets from disparate sources to ensure validity, accuracy, and completeness.
Data Validation: Develop and execute thorough testing plans to validate the accuracy and integrity of migrated data.
Data Visualisation: Develop insightful reports using data visualisation tools to effectively communicate findings and trends to the commercial team.
Work closely with business area to translate business strategy / goals into data-based deliverables through the development of data models that generate relevant insights
Partner with the business to plan data projects / requests
Define the approach to extract and manipulate large volumes of data using database / data warehouse and cloud technologies, develop ELT processes where relevant
Source, collate, manipulate, and interrogate datasets from disparate sources to ensure validity, accuracy, and completeness using programming languages as required
Run SQL queries on the database to extract data for analysis
Use platforms (Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Google Data Studio, Power BI, Microsoft Excel) for analytics and visualisation
Develop dashboards and insights reports for the business
Clearly convey findings / recommendations to stakeholders
Run periodic and ad-hoc reporting as planned
WHAT IT TAKES
BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline Demonstrable knowledge and application of data mining, data analytics and statistical modelling Proficient in SQL, Microsoft Excel Proficient in any of the following programming languages: Python, R Proficient in any of the following BI platforms: Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Google Data Studio, Power BI Experience with database and datawarehouse technologies Experience with AWS and GCP cloud technologies Good writing and verbal English communication skills WHAT WE OFFER YOU
